The front strut diameter of your Golf 5 will usually depend on engine size and model. The easiest way to check this is to either measure the front strut diameter where it goes into the hub or VW can also check this for you from your chassis number.

The measurement needed is the diameter of the bottom of the shock absorber body where it goes into the hub, it will be either 50mm or 55mm. If you aren't able to measure this then VW should be able to tell you from your chassis number or we may be able to confirm the size by going off your engine size and vehicle spec."
